I've been trying to send pictures downloaded into my computer into My
Pictures. My computer then tries to use Outlook Express to e-mail the pics, but I now have 10 files in OE that fail to send. I can't seem to find a way to clean out or delete the files and nothing I try succeeds in e-mailing the files. I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my computer. I've heard that I now have to be a paying subscriber to Hotmail in order for OE to successfully send e-mails. Is this accurate? I can't seem to find any other way to get the photos from my camera card to e-mail. I'm very low tech, so please make answers easy to follow! |

This will delete all mail in the outbox.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start | Run | Ctrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In Windows XP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View. With OE closed, find the DBX file for the folder in question {Outbox.dbx} and delete it. A new one will be created automatically when you open OE. Are you trying to send through Hotmail? A belated thanks, Ron, for your help. Wasn't able to do it exactly as you
described, but some how muddled through and managed to clean out the outbox. I was trying to send a couple of photos, can't remember what size the file was...not too big because it was only one pic per file. I was finally able to send the pics that I needed to and all is good. Thank you. "Ron Sommer" wrote: This will delete all mail in the outbox. you do not EMAIL pictures to the MY Pictures folder.
either right click on the picture and select SAVE AS and then browse to the desired folder. or use File - Save AS and do the same. "SmartCookie" wrote in message ...
