Here is more on the problem.
Direct DB Notify Wnd Proc: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=101094 -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... If posting to more than one newsgroup, please crosspost rather than multiposting. Thank you. Multiposting vs Crossposting: http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm This was asked by another yesterday and that was the first time I had seen this problem. I suggested to try the following, but the poster has not replied as to whether it worked or not. With OE closed, go to the Message Store and delete Folders.dbx and try. You will lose your folder hierarchy, but the folders can be easily dragged back where they belong. Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start | Run | Ctrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "John Barton" wrote in message ... Using Outlook Express 6 . At times OE will not open and this is happening more often. When I reboot I get a message that "Direct DB Notify program is ending". After rebooting OE will work for a while and the stop. How can this be corrected? |
