Good morning,
I'm having a problem with Outlook Express 6 on a brand new PC (Intel dual-core, 2GB RAM, etc). It is connecting to a POP3 mail server via the internet. When sending e-mails to individual recipients it works fine. However, when sending to multiple recipients, it takes a ridiculously long time to send (5 or 6 minutes). We are using Symantec Corporate 10 for our AV. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks! -Josh |

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for lose of messages. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Next choice would be to get rid of Norton. It has many compatibility issues with OE. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Josh - Delcomp" wrote in message ... How many recipients are you sending to?
This could be an issue with the SMTP mail server. Some mail servers give an acceptance to OE as soon as the message is transmitted to the mail server. Others try to send the message on to the recipients' mail servers immediately and won't give OE acceptance confirmation until it gets confirmation back from all the other mail servers. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Josh - Delcomp" wrote in message ...
