Please post the error message in its entirety. You can left click on the
dialog box to highlight the error message, then right click and Copy. Paste
it in here.

Your server is your e-mail provider. Usually, your ISP, (The people you pay
each month), or what is listed after the @ sign in your e-mail address.

The full text of the error message would be helpful. That includes the
server name, server type, port number, socket error code, SSL, etc. For
best results, copy/paste the error message rather than retyping it. You
should be able to highlight the message text in the error window (hold
down the left mouse button while dragging the mouse over the text).
Then press Ctrl-C (hold down the Ctrl key while pressing the C key) to
copy the highlighted text to the Windows clipboard. You can then paste
that text into the problem description using the Ctrl-V key combination.

The error codes indicate that the connection to the server was refused.

A mail server is the equivalent of a post office. Your mail program
connects to the mail server to pick up (receive/download) your incoming
mail or to send outgoing mail.

If the error mentions the Incoming POP3 server, it most likely a problem
with your anti-virus scanning e-mail and messing things up.

If the problem mentions the Outgoing SMTP mail server, it most likely an
issue of your using the wrong mail server. Generally for outgoing mail
you are limited to using the SMTP mail server of the Internet Server
Provider that you are currently using.

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.memon-online.com',
Server: 'mail.memon-online.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

thanx for your reply, thats the original error-message, can you help to
solve it?

As I mentioned in my previous reply, since it is a POP3 mail server, the
most likely cause is your anti-virus scanning e-mail. Are you doing
that?

I also tried connecting to that mail server on port 110 and could not.
Have you checked with them for correct server settings?

thanks for every advice, could not solve it through anti-virus, but problem
got finally solved through e-mail supplier after long discussions that they
are not the cause and that they were unable to help. they finally fixed it.
so it was not my settings or computer. thanks for your help anyway.

You are welcome and thanks for posting back.

ISPs and mail suppliers are all to quick to blame the user or Microsoft
when the problem is really on their end.

Has it ever worked?
Are you sure you have the correct server and settings per their
instructions?
