Default MIME Virus?

Apparently I posted this in the wrong place so I will try again here. I am
having a problem with Outlook Express in that when attachments are sent in an
email, the recipient will recieve multiple copies - one person got over 200
copies of the email. The attachment is either not there or it is giberish. I
use Windows XP and Outlook Express 6. I have tried numberous scans by AVG,
Regcure and nothing seems to solve this problem. Various sites say this is a
Mime problem that was fixed by Outlook Express back in 2001/02 Please help as
this is a major nuicance! When it comes to fixes, I am not very experienced
but it the instructions are pretty detailed I can usually do it, so please be
sure to include everything I need to do. Many thanks to whoever can help!

Large Attachments?

You probably have OE set to break apart messages larger than 60 KB
(default)?
Toolsaccountsmailselect accountpropertiesadvanced tab.
Check there.
If it is set so, then get back here for more details of your options?

Yes and No? :-)

Depending on any mail size limitation imposed by your ISP?

Most ISP's will reject large mails, you can uncheck it and try to send a
large mail, see what happens?

I find that 500KB is generally accepted by them.

The recipient will need to use the Combine and Decode feature on each part
to view the message.
Select each part of the message by holding the Ctrl keythen Rt click the
selectedcombine and decode. Then open the generated attachment.
The earlier gibberish messages that you mentioned can be opened in this
manner.
For a lot of parts the best method to select them all is to select the first
part then holding down the Shift key select the last part, all will be
selected.

Have tried to just remove the check and it seems to have done the trick as I
sent myself a jpg file and it only came back once. Many thanks. I really
appreciate your help as I have spent all kinds of time testing various
suggestions to no avail! Thanks again

Yeah well that .jpg file was SMALL, try sending yourself a LARGE attachment,
like the one that split into over 200, see how your ISP handles that one
with the check mark removed?

You now know the answer, so I am pleased that you are back in control :-)
