multiple things happening at once.
Running Windows xp-home. IE7, CA security Suite 1-Just set it up again after having to reset computer. Was on line with provider so I know all the ins and outs are correct. Went to sent test mail, clicked the "Create Mail" button and got an error message "There was an error opening this message. An error has occurred." I tryed uninstalling it through windows components in add and remove with no change. 2- Can not opem emails that have attachments and some without do not show all information in them. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to correct this problem without wiping the machine? Thanks. |

Mr. Miller am I not in the OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6 GENERAL area? I am sorry that I
assumed that the person responding to this thread would not know what discussion the thread was entered into. If the case is he didn't know, why didn't he not just ask like you have? Thank you. I stated that I was using windows xp-home. I did state that I was using internet explorer 7 and yes I do have SP2 installed. Thank you for asking. I have spent hours reading "Help About". I know more than most people do about computers but I have to admit I am a small fry in a big ocean when it comes to the technical side of how a computer works. I miss the simple days of DOS. I don't understand why he send me links for instructions for windows 95-98-2000. I don't think that was reasonable. I thank you for your questions and hope my answers will help you lead me to the information that I need. "N. Considering that you neglected to tell us which program that you are using, and that you posted your problem to an MS Outook Express group, providing three links to MS Outlook Express problems seems reasonable. Perhaps you can post back with the name of the program, and the version number? If it is MS Outlook Express on Windows XP Home Edition (at least you *did* mention the OS; and with MSIE7 perhaps we can guess that is with SP2) then opening MS Outlook Express 6, adn reading the "Help About" notice will be a start. I have: Microsoft Outlook Express 6 6.00.2900.2180 And, in the file list is: msoe.dll: Version 6.00.2900.3138 I believe that information would be a start. After all, we don't really know what you are using, and people *have* posted here with questions about MS Outlook 97, MS Outlook 2003, and even Mozilla Thunderbird. -- Norman ~Shine, bright morning light, ~now in the air the spring is coming. ~Sweet, blowing wind, ~singing down the hills and valleys. |

All of the links Michael gave pertain to Outlook Express. The last two are
especially important because they mention the error you quoted. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Do not send mail. "gunner2" wrote in message ... Time better spent researching FAQs using the search tool in the web interface to newsgroups that you are using? eg Michael frequently provides tips which would answer your second question too. I thank you for your questions and hope my answers will help you lead me to the information that I need. OE5 and OE6 were originally supported on those OS. Much detailed support information from OE5 still applies to OE6, regardless of the OS it is run on. FYI Robert Aldwinckle --- "N. Did you read the articles?
All three of those apply to creating a message as they say in the articles. And the first two apply to OE 5, 5.5 and 6, even though the articles may not mention all of them (the first mentions 5 and 6, the second mentions 5 and 5.5 but also applies to 6). -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "gunner2" wrote in message ... I did reinstall Microsoft Works Suite 2004 and requested for an update for my
computer to microsoft at that time. I know there are office programs in both products i.e. Word. Do you see a protential problem there. Thank you.
