FOLLOW-UP to XP help group Sent this at 1037 this AM and has not showed up in group, at least for me. Its in my sent file. ORIGINAL POST to XP help group Please tell me where I "admin" can control what programs are listed on the start/all programs list for another "non admin" account. Hi, your post seems to show up fine on my end (Using Xnews).
If you wish to lock down your computer for use by a child I would suggest you investigate "Windows SteadyState", which you can find on http://download.microsoft.com as a free download. It allows you to lock down certain aspects of your computer's configuration, as well as block program access, internet access, changes, etc. to a high degree, all grouped in a nice window with descriptions. Programs listed in Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu are seen be every user. Program listed only on a particular users Start Menu are seen only by that user. Each user sees what's in their own Start Menu folder plus what's in All User's Start Menu folder. As far as not showing up, did you try View | Show replies to my messages? -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM I won't answer email. |

Ace-Frank Thank you both for input now I understand better what and why I
see on the start menu. I will check out the suggested program, sounds great. As for the missing messages my last one, that you replied to, showed fine in both groups also but still no sign of past my two messages other than in sent folder. Used view all to look for them in help group. I am assuming that since you both replied to this message and not the first two that you did not see them either.Oh well. Thanks again Mel "shakey" shakeyATsonic.net wrote in message ... Resent to help_and_support at 1344 this afternoon, still not showing up.
