Default Copying DBX Files as Backup

If an user simply copies DBX files as a substitute for fully backing up
OE, what problems result when he tries to access the archived files? OE
does not have the archiving function built into Outlook (except that it
can export to Outlook), and the utilities with which I am familiar
backup everything, requiring a complete restore to access a single file.
(Outlook allows you to open a PST file for access as if the content were
still in Outlook.)
