Photos in my emails cant be opened. I send them as J-pegs and they are
recieved as mim files. What is a mim file and why/how are they being
converted?

Are you sending to and AOL user? If so, it's a limitation in older
versions of AOL.

Hey Mike. Yes I am sending it to an AOL user. But I have been exchanging pics
with him for a couple of years with no problem. So what do now. Is it on me
or my brother. (I went to the sight you prescribed but it is way over my
head.) Thanx for the input.

From what I understand, it's a problem with older versions of AOL
software. If can't easily handle more than one picture per message or
a picture with HTML format. To get around that, it encodes the message
into a MIM file that requires manual decoding which is a real pain for
the recipient.

Did he recently switch to an older PC running an old version of AOL
software? I thought that the AOL software that's been out for a few
years now no longer has that limitation.

To get around it on your end use Plain Text mode when sending to him.
- Tools, Options, Send, Mail sending format, Plain Text - will set that
as the default for all messages that you send
- I the message composition window select Format, Plain Text for the
current message
- In the address book you can select the option to only send plain text
on the NAME tab for him. In that case, OE will warn you if you try to
send HTML.

AND attach only on picture per message.
