Default Outlook express Blocked inbox

Outlook express has been trying to receive an incoming email for the past two
days, but I get messages telling me that my POP server has not responded.
Then the operation fails and I get the message "the server has unexpectedly
terminated the connection" All waiting email is blocked behind this
constantly failing operation. Can enyone tell me how to unblock my inbox?

Default Outlook express Blocked inbox

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and
causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes
and has even been responsible for lose of messages. Your up-to-date A/V
program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:

If still no joy, does it stop on the first message and show no messages
downloaded in the Status Bar? The first message may be corrupt. Access your
messages via your ISP's Website and read & delete the first message.

Post the entire error message if the above does not fix it.
