I have created an account for gmail in OE,and mail does get checked.
Can I create a folder to hold messages?
I already have a folder for Hotmail as well as the default Local

You can create a rule that mail from the gmail account be routed to another
local folder, otherwise it will appear in your Inbox. It does not work the
way Hotmail does. (or used to, until you needed a paid account to access
Hotmail). You would have to place that rule at the top of the list of any
message rule and include the Stop Processing More Rules for it to work.
