This problem's been around forever - does anyone else notice it? If I open
up any message and copy even a line or two of text, then his Esc to close the message (which I'm viewing in a separate window, not in the preview pane), it takes quite a long time before I can do anything else in OE. The screen goes white within the borders of the OE window for sometimes 30 seconds. It doesn't matter whether the message I copied from was plain text or rich text. And, even though the symptom looks similar to what happens sometimes when a machine's low on RAM, that's not the case here. Any theories? |

Compact your folders. Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree
so no folders are open. Then: FileWork Offline (or double click Working Online in the Status Bar). FileFolderCompact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed. Clear the Temporary Internet Files. In IEToolsInternet Options Delete Files button. And check the box to Delete Offline content. If still no joy, you may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity and delete it. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Doug Kanter" wrote in message news ![]() This problem's been around forever - does anyone else notice it?
