cannot send multi part emails (large files) I have tried changing the size of the parts (form 499KB to over 1MEG)
for example if will break the email into 11 parts and then proceed to send 10 parts over and over.... till I delete it out of the outbox . right now if I send it to myself (a 4 part in this example) the parts do not show up in the right order and they cannot be recombined, even when placed in the correct order any help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance saggman54 |

A few things may be going on:
1) Your ISP may have message size limits. Check with them. 2) If you have your anti-virus scanning outgoing or incoming mail or are running anti-spam software, either of those can cause problems. The outgoing scanning could cause the send to hang. And any of them could muck up the message so that the combine and decode won't work. With some anti-virus (and anti-spam) programs, simply disabling the e-mail scanning function doesn't really disable it. It simply tells the program not to flag any messages. It still processes all the messages and may still cause send/receive failures. What you may need to do is uninstall the anti-virus program, then reinstall it using a custom install option and unselect the e-mail scanning component for installation. 3) This could be a corrupted Outbox folder in Outlook Express: - Close Outlook Express. - OE5+: Locate the file outbox.dbx in the mail directory and delete it. You can use Start, Find (or Search), Files or Folders, outbox.dbx to find it. On Win2000 you need enable the display of Hidden or System files in the folder options and XP you need to use the advanced options to find Hidden or System files. (You can also determine the location by looking in OE at Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder.) - Open Outlook Express again. It will create a new empty Outbox. This could be the cause of the send hanging, but would not cause problems with the combine and decode assuming that you got all the parts in the Inbox. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "saggman54" wrote in message ... cannot send multi part emails (large files) I have tried changing the size of the parts (form 499KB to over 1MEG) for example if will break the email into 11 parts and then proceed to send 10 parts over and over.... till I delete it out of the outbox . right now if I send it to myself (a 4 part in this example) the parts do not show up in the right order and they cannot be recombined, even when placed in the correct order any help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance saggman54 |

Did you try deleting the Outbox folder as described in step 3?

What exactly happens when you combine the messages? Do you get any
error message? Or is it just the attachment that's a problem? What you need to do is look at the Message Source (Ctrl-F3) of the combined message and compare to the version in the Sent Items folder. They should be identical with the exception of some additional header lines in the combined message that are the result of the mail servers and any anti-virus or anti-spam that the message has passed through. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "saggman54" wrote in message ... messages aren't hanging anymore...
