I am using Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP (with the latest service
updates). I recently changed my only account in OE from Gmail POP3 to Gmail IMAP. The account is set up with the outgoing mail going to smtp.gmail.com. When I view Gmail on the web, I see "Sent Mail" and a label called "Sent Items". The 1st one includes all of the mail that I sent via Gmail (including the mail that was sent via OE). The "Sent Items" label is empty. I now have 4 different "Sent" folders in OE: Local Folders/Sent Items C:\OEMail\Sent Items.dbx Gmail/Sent Items C:\OEMail\Gmail - Sent Items.dbx Gmail / [Gmail]/Sent Mail C:\OEMail\imap.gmail.com - Sent Mail.dbx Gmail/Sent C:\OEMail\Gmail - Sent.dbx The 2nd folder and 4th folders are empty. How can I get rid of these empty folders?? |

I did get a much more helpful response from my post on the thunderbird forum. As a result, I was able to get rid of one of the folders (Gmail/Sent Items). I had to do a little investigating on my own to determine how to get rid of the folder in Outlook Express. Here's what I did: 1) close Outlook Express 2) delete the appropriate .dbx file 3) delete the label in Gmail (via the web) 4) start Outlook Express Chuck |
