Default Cloning message rules?

Hi...

I exported message rules from the registry before changing to another drive
with an ealier installation of XP. Then I imported messages and address
book.

Then I restored the message rules to the registry. The store folder is in
exactly the same place on the new installation as the old, with the same
Identity. But the message rules aren't showing up at all.

What have I done wrong? Thanks.

Same place is irrelevenant. Is the GUID exactly the same? If so, adding them
back to the registry should have worked.

These links should shed some light on where to go now.

Thanks Bruce. I'll check out those links tomorrow.

If by GUID you are referring to the folder under Identities, yes it is the
same. I am actually working with the same XP installation, but with a
back-up from almost a year ago while it was still pretty fresh. The digital
version of the Fountain of Youth.

The old one was getting too fat and lazy (like me).

They are in the Registry. Export this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Micro soft\Outlook
Express\5.0\Rules

Before merging it into a new Identity or new machine, edit the REG file with
WordPad and change the GUID to agree with where you want to Merge it.

Turns out I made a mistake....wound up with two copies of "blocked". When I
did it right, it worked.
