I recently had to re-install my Outlook Exp6 and have been having a password
problem. In every step of the installation or upon setting up my internet connection, I have, whenever required entered my password. Even checked the box for the system (or program) to remember the password. Each time I try to send/rec e-mail, I am required to key in my password. My logon ID is there, and under password I select to remember it. No luck. I am using OL Exp 6 and running under windows XP sp2. Can someone help me NOT to be required to key in my pw every time I read mail? Since this is my FIRST experience using a news group, is it possible to send any reply to me directly? Art Thanks |

Windows version?
How did you reinstall OE? Why did you reinstall OE? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L.ORG http://66.39.69.143/ Arthur Lederle wrote: I recently had to re-install my Outlook Exp6 and have been having a password problem. Please click on your original post and use Reply Group to continue with the
same problem. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Arthur Lederle" wrote in message ... Thanks for the quick turn around. Like I wrote, this is my first posting and may not have asked the question in the proper manor. As stated previously, I am using Windows XP/sp2. I did NOT have to install OE6 as I wrote, but rather had to set up my inernet connection and with my mail account. I had to replace a hard drive, and had only saved data files as backups. When creating the account I was asked for incoming and outgoung servers and if my ISP requires password valadition. (not required that I know of) In any case, I submitted my PASSWORD whenever it was required, and even checked the 'remember pw' box. Now I must key in my pw every time I 'get mail'. I am trying to find a remedy to NOT have to enter my pw every time. Since this problem started, I no longer have the ability to 'spell check', and the spelling line in the tools drop down menu is greyed out. What's going on? Thanks, Art Lederle |

Wonderful! Now Mr. Lederle is copying my reply to another post and pasting
it in here instead of answering the questions that were asked. Save password setting not retained in Outlook or Outlook Express http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290684 OLEXP: Your Outlook Express Password Is Not Retained in Windows 2000 or XP - http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=264672 Since this is my FIRST experience using a news group, is it possible to send any reply to me directly? Yes, it is by defining "followup-to: poster" but it's rather rude behavior. Usenet is some kind of a "public" place. All questions are given to all people here and all people reading the group should be able to read answers. -- Regards Arkadiusz 'Black Fox' Artyszuk |
