Default opening OE messages on external HDD

Hi,
I have an external HDD with OE 6 installed. On this drive I have many
messages that I need to frequently access. So far I have been swapping the
HDD on my computer (notebook) whenever I needed to access these files. Is
there a way to open the messages on the external HDD with its OE interface
without moving them on to the internal HDD?
Thanks,
AJS
