Default MS Security Bulletin MS06-001: Vulnerability in Graphics Rende

Hi All,

Of interest, the following webpage was also not accessible as a result of
installing the MS06-001 patch. It does not seem to be effecting too many
systems, but there are approx 50+ systems which are having problems trying to
access this site:

https://www.anz.com/inetbank/bankmain.asp

ideas?

Can you give us an example of a web site you cannot access?

You mean the one that has this on it?:

Four quick ways to protect your personal information
Tick Monitor your computer with up-to-date antivirus software.
Tick Install Windows security patches as soon as they become available.
Tick Disconnect from the Internet if you leave your computer unattended.
Tick Disregard emails requesting sensitive personal information.
What’s new in Internet Banking
ArrowChanges to ANZ Pay Anyone Transfers
ArrowOrder your replacement statements via Internet Banking

It's not the update that is your problem because I have all the updates
and can access that web site with no problems and I tried accessing it
with Mozilla and IE.

As I said in my previous email. The issue does not seem to be effecting all
systems that have the patch (my personal laptop is fine with the site as
well), but other workstations (selected workstations) seem to be having
problems with the website. With the patch installed, they can not access
that site, and with the patch they can't. When I go to un-install the patch,
reboot the workstation, the page is available, when the patch is installed,
the page is not available.

It's really wierd.

When you installed the patch, did you disable your anti virus' auto scan
first?

For my personal laptop, no the AV system was still up and running (CA's
product which replaced VET) as for the other computers, not sure as I wasn't
present when the patches were implemented (but they would have been a
combination of Norton AV and AVG Anti-virus (free edition)). I would suspect
that some would have had the service stopped and others would have had it
running.
