Default OE really sluggish

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a new Dell XPS with Norton Internet Security. I
transferred my OE files from my old machine to my new one. OE seems to
start OK, but it takes 7-8 seconds to switch folders and the same amount of
time to open emails in the preview pane. I wasn't having any troubles on
my old system running just Norton Antivirus, so I don't think I have any
corrupted DBX files. I have compacted all the folders too. Would anyone
know of any issues with Norton, or any other possible causes for such
sluggishness?

Thanks! Lynne

Disable Norton's nefarious email scanning and see if your OE behaves
better. It offers no additional protection and can cause the problems
you are experiencing.

I agree with Gerry. The best thing you can do is dump Norton for AVG or
Avast!.

Thanks for both suggestions on dumping Norton. I'll give that a try and go
with AVG!
