Default cannot get into Outlook Express at all

My wifes machine has Win XP and IE 7. She has two email identities. I
attempted to add a third identity and got to the point where it says "do you
want to start that identity." I said yes and it switched to that unfinished
identity, but then I was called away and my wife eventually shut down the
machine. That was a wek ago, now she tells me she cannot get into O/E. I
have attempted to manage identities, however it always starts with the new
identitiy and then totally locks up with hour glass. It attempts to connect
and then times out and then becomes "not responding". I cannot get into it
to change identities or manage identities. Please advise

Close OE and enable Hidden Files and Folders.

In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options
Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Outlook Express identities. It
will be a path like this.

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities.

You should see all three identities there. Click one each one to get to the
Outlook Express message store. This will reveal the dbx files. You should be
able to determine which is the new one as it will have no user created files
and the default files will be around 59KB.

When you determine which is the new on, delete it completely. Restart the
computer and see if you can get into OE now.

No problem. I was merely pointing out that I'd answered your post in IE6
Browser. [In a reply to my post there, Bill tell us that using the Force
Identity Log-on resolved his problem.]
