Default Run Time Error Box

Hello. I have a Dell, windows XP home and OE X6. In the past several
months, on and off, I get a run error box. This often shuts OE down. It
won't allow me to delete emails and in fact, will repeat them 3-6X. It also
occasionally blocks incoming mail. Recently, I am getting another box that
certain number emails cannot be retreived.

I have called my local broadband/cable and they say problem not on their
end, as I can access OE.

I have NOT ever installed SP2 and my system is now four years old. I do run
virus and spyware, etc checks several times a week and those are clear.

My warrently with Dell for service expires in early 1-08, so any thoughts on
the cause of this problem and/or corrective action would be much appreciated.

Thanks much and Happy Holidays!!!!!

You're running an outdated and much less secure version of OE, IE, and
Windows. This may have something to do with your OE problems.

1. Move any messages that you want to keep out of Inbox, Sent Items, and
Deleted Items folders and into other OE folders you've created for archiving
(saving) such messages. (You want all 3 of these folders empty.)

2. Compact all OE folders
(http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact).

3a. Install Windows XP SP2.

3b. Go to Windows Update and install all critical updates offered. Do NOT
install IE7; hide it instead.

3c. Enable Automatic Updates.

4. If the problems persist, contact Dell Support.
