Default Outlook and usenet

For a long time, I thought my different servers had problems with Usenet
groups. Most of them did'nt deliver properly all of the messages,
including mine.

However, I just ried to open several Outlook accounts on the same Usenet
server and I found out that some messages were missing in one account
while I could get them in another. With 4 Outlook accounts on the same
server, created and loaded the same hour, I didn't get the same missing
messages on all.

Any tip?

Larger ISPs have multiple news servers for performance reasons. They
are supposed to be kept in synch, but sometimes get out of synch. Each
time you connect to the news server, you may be getting a different
physical server with a different news posting data base.

While connected to the newsgroup, open a command window (in Programs,
Accessories) and enter the command
netstat -n
it will show your TCP/IP connections. Look for IP addresses followed
by :119. (e.g. xxx.xx.xx.xx:119). The xx are the IP address of the
news server. Do that while connected to each of the news accounts and
you'll probably see different IP addresses. In that case, contact the
news server administrator and let them know that their news servers are
out of synch.
