Make sure the e-mail scanning remained turned off. Leave the anti-virus on.
If you have an Anti-Spam program, disable it. If none of this helps, please
post the entire error message. Just left click on the text | Right click and
Copy and Paste it into your reply.

What is the complete error message?

After turning off email scanning did you make sure the server names were
corrected?

I was sent an "incredit mail" e-mail by a friend. Since then this servise
is installed in my computer. I am a member of t-online, but I prefer
incredit mail meanwhile. What does it cost. I would like to make this a

Not that this has anything to do with Outlook Express, which is what this
newsgroup is for, but see this:

Thanks a lot you fixed the problem. All I did was turn my email scanning
program off. I use etrust from computer associates, had norton before and
caused a lot of problem and I took it off because a lot of the programs
including outlook express would not work. I have one more question if you
have time. Turning off the email scanning program will it make my computer
more sucpicialble to viruses.

Turning off e-mail scanning will not leave you unprotected and even Symantec
says so.

From:
http://snipurl.com/bmf6

Is my computer still protected against viruses if I disable Email Scanning?

Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.
