How can I unwatch a post that I can no longer see, even after selecting
view.....show all files?

Are you trying to interpret some symptoms that you're not giving us? w

If you can't see a post using Show All Messages it is no longer there.
The fact that it might have once been marked Watched or Ignored, etc.
would be irrelevant.

Oh. Are you worried that the implementation of Watch Conversation
is independent of the existence of its messages? It's not.
Once the message is gone any markings it once had are gone with it too.
You don't have to worry about cleaning up after it.

In fact the implementation of Watch Conversation is even more specific
than that. It depends on the existence of messages which contain the
same parent Message-ID in their References headers.
E.g. you may notice messages still coming in grouped under the same
Subject but without the Watched icon on them. If you check their
headers you will undoubtedly find that either they have no References
header or they are replies to earlier posts or in other subthreads.

Robert,
Thank you for your comments. I've got it sorted out. Unsubscribed and
resubscribed.

Ok. But I think that's like demolishing your house and rebuilding it
in order to fix a stuck door. eg

Remember for next time that there may be a more refined approach
to understanding and dealing with your symptoms. w

Good luck
