Default Unwatch a post

Gentlemen,
The only thing that is red is the the Newsgroup title. If I check "show all
messages" and click on the eyeglasses, nothing comes up, so I can't uncheck
it. I've not had this problem before. The group is rec.photo.digital. If the
message has been removed, does that mean that the Group title remains red
forever?

That's a better clue. w My guess is that you have checked
(in Current View) Show replies to my messages (Alt-V,V,CursorUp x2...)
or press Ctrl-h to toggle it.

Then you could have some *unread* Watched messages in threads
which you have not participated in which would account for the red
summary line.

Alternatively do a search for all messages in that folder
(e.g. press Ctrl-Shift-F,Alt-o,F4,Enter,Enter)
then (provided Watched is a requested column in your Find window)
either sort by Watched (Alt-V,B,W) or (provided you have a view
defined for displaying Watched messages) change the View to Watched.
Since you are really only interested in finding *unread* Watched messages
you could also change the View to Hide Read or Ignored (Alt-V,V,H)

The point is that the Find window ignores the main window's view settings
and always start off with Group messages by conversation (aka threading)
unchecked so you will be more likely to find the messages which are causing
the symptom there. You could just as easily also undo all those settings
for the main window but may find it easier to turn stuff on in the Find window
than to turn stuff off in the main window, especially if you aren't sure what
all is on there. G
