either Insert | Picture and Browse to the folder it's in to insert it, or
Insert | File Attachment and Browse to the folder with the picture.

Do it that way and see if it's in Sent Items when you send it to yourself.

Some email programs may not follow proper internet rules, so try sending

One method to use would be to right click on the picture in the
original e-mail and then "save picture as" to 'my pictures'.
When y'all want to send the picture via another e-mail, attach the
picture using the location in 'my pictures'.
