Default OE cannot connect

I have XP SP2, Outlook Express 6, (But I do not use outlook express to
access hotmail-right from the web page) have not been able to access
hotmail the last two days- yesterday my id and password were wrong, and
today, I only get a blank page when i click on hotmail or as the last time I
just tried it again I got the "cannot display page" error) I already
emailed MSN from the MSN home page tech support, but since I can't access
their hot mail, I do not know - it is one thing I have never understood is
why I can
get e-mail on web pages and /or on Outlook Express. I tried to put my hot
mail account on outlook express but I do not have all of the technical info.
Thanks in advance for any response.

If you don't use OE to access the account, why did you post in an
OE-specific newsgroup?

Only Hotmail Plus and MSN Premium subscribers can access a Hotmail account
in OE now.

ButchKersh,
If you have not changed your settings for Hotmail, and this is also true for
MSN Mail accounts, and things have been working for awhile. Then the problem
is usually a HotMail/MSN server problem. In most cases you will just need to
wait until they fix it on their end. It could take a few hours, or a few
days, sad to say.

Thanks for both replies- I still can't access hotmail, so it has been three
days and their online tech service has not replied to me on another email
account which is the one that I can get on both OE and at the web(this
one-verizon.net who is my ISP) page. I only brought my question here
because I could not access hotmail- I tried adding the msn account to OE,
but could not so I deleted it. I have had no problems with hotmail for over
five years so I just do not have familiarity with whom to contact- sorry if
it upsets some people.

Oh, since I am getting some replies, one more piece of information that may
be helpful. I had to reinstall printer software just before this
happened-should I recontact the the printer's techs or just stay in the msn
world?

Thanks for nothing - there are only tens of thousands of newsgroups. I just
talked to Verizon and was told that MSN is having problems, and they are
being worked on. Verizon also helped get my connection back up to speed,
and like I already said, I do not know who is best at solving this problem,
since MSN is having problems and did not respond to my inquiries online, and
I get email on webpages and OE: but Verizon did give me a phone number.

So? Is it up to the /volunteers/ here to help you find the appropriate
newsgroup?

Speaking of which, I already pointed you to an appropriate newsgroup in an
earlier reply:
