I hear the "mail truck" sound when I open a new IE window (which is set
to my earthlink.net home page), and a new e-mail has arrived. I never use
the web-based e-mail, I only use Outlook Express. I can't preview the new
e-mail sound because I removed the "speaker" icon next to "New Mail
Notifivation". Not only that, but I also set the sound to (None). And I
created a new sound scheme which should include the new setting of no
sound for new e-mail. But despite all that, I still am forced to listen
to the irritating "mail truck" when I open a new IE window, and another
piece of spam has been sent to me.

Go back thru the sounds list and you should see the Earthlink addon's.
That is where you should be able to disable them.

I get the sound everyday about 6 am. I can't find anyway to shut it off.

Shoot at them, it won't echo that much on the mountain. G
