How do I use the watch feature of outlook express when working with
newsgroups? I presume this is to keep an eye on threads of interest? |

If they're not already there, put the "spectacles" in the Column Bar. Right
click on the Column BarColumnsAdd the spectacles in a column next to the subject header. Now, Go to: ViewSort byWatch / Ignore and Sort descending. When you want to "watch" a message, click next to the message under the spectacles. This will keep the message at the top of the list, and the newsgroup name will change from black to red when there is a reply. You can also Sort By | Sent with the same results. This will keep the threads in the order they were received. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Mike" wrote in message ... The newsgroup name seems to turn red when there's noting there yet. I think
it's trying to tell me that I have posted something. After I read my own messages, it turns black. Can we fix that? "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... The newsgroup name shouldn't turn red unless a reply to a watched message is
posted. I don't know why it would for unwatched messages. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Mike" wrote in message ... I have created a rule that wors well.
Apply this rule after the message arrives Where the From line contains 'me' Mark it as read and Mark the message as watched It assures that I'm not alterted to my own messages, while assuring that I am alerted to responses.
