Default cannot open links in emails

I cannot open links embedded in emails when using outlook express 6. I do not
receive any error messages at all when clicking on them. I click on them and
nothing. I don't have any trouble opening file attachments, pictures or
videos, just links to other web sites, pages or "mail to" links. Any one have
this problem?

thanks RayS

Opening attachments is an entirely different issue that clicking on
links.

Are you using the Yahoo web mail? If so, that's not an OE issue.
Check with Yahoo.
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/read/#receiving

If you are downloading your messages to OE and then having a problem in
OE are you getting any error message?

Perhaps this is your issue:
To stop the blocking of Any attachments, see this article:

Default cannot open links in emails

Oh my goodness. Thank you so much for this information. I have been losing my
mind ready to throw this desktop out the window for suddenly refusing to
allow me to open links within my webmail. It seemed so random that it all of
a sudden did this. People keep telling me to stop installing the microsoft
updates???Not sure what to do anymore. I have no idea why this happened but I
am SOO SOO happy that I read your post. I have been searching and searching
and finally came across someone who appears to have had the same problem or
at least was able to give me the correct configuration! I realize that
sometimes it's the stupidest little click of the button but Oh so much the
most frustrating.
Thanks again.

Default cannot open links in emails

You are welcome and thanks for posting back.

Most the the updates are security related. Some one has figured out how
to exploit some weakness in the operating system or a program in order
to a PC and take control over it. The updates plug the hole.

Although on occasion the update might cause some problems, it's
generally a good idea to install them.
