Default receiving attachments

Actually no, I orginally said "Sending", the person who started this string
asked about receiving.

Just cross posting in case someone else has an idea. YOu responded to my
other post about 12 posts down, but that wasn't the answer.

Michael S. answered, so we're doing the registry hack and see if that works.

Thanks anyway.

cheers
tom

Your original post asked about *receiving*, not *sending*, e-mail with
attachments. What happens when you try to send? If you receive an error
message, please post it in its entirety.

Ok, so how do you allow Outlook Express to send with an attachment. May
not be an Outlook issue, but Sympatico, but they said it isn't theirs.
We can send via Hotmail.

Thanks Tim,

That certainly did the trick.

Hi battersby,

This feature is meant to prevent opening unsafe attachments. Use your
best
judgment.

To turn off the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that
could potentially be a virus option:

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments
to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box
under Virus Protection, and then click OK.

When I receive mail with an attachment, I have a message that says:

OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail:
****.doc

Any suggestions on how I can modify this behavior??

Thanks,
Battersby
