Hi battersby,
This feature is meant to prevent opening unsafe attachments. Use your best judgment. To turn off the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus option: 1. Start Outlook Express. 2. On the Tools menu, click Options. 3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus Protection, and then click OK. Ok, so how do you allow Outlook Express to send with an attachment. May not
be an Outlook issue, but Sympatico, but they said it isn't theirs. We can send via Hotmail. "battersby" wrote in message ... Thanks Tim, That certainly did the trick. "Kuay Tim" wrote in message ... Actually no, I orginally said "Sending", the person who started this string
asked about receiving. Just cross posting in case someone else has an idea. YOu responded to my other post about 12 posts down, but that wasn't the answer. Michael S. answered, so we're doing the registry hack and see if that works. Thanks anyway. cheers tom "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... It worked! What Michael mentioned about doing the registry.

I thought it looked familiar. I don't see a cross post, just a new thread.
Had you continues on the old thread, I would have realized your entire post. Let us know if the reg hack works. A/V or ISP problems are the only other things I can come up with. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Tom McLaughlin" wrote in message news:RmcHf.596101$ki.522217@pd7tw2no...
