I seem to be having a similar problem and it is driving me crazy I have
Tesco broadband which I had to reinstall recently after problems with my computer. I can access the internet (obviously!) but I cannot send or receive emails . I get the error message Ox800CCCOD . I have tried to contact Tesco technical services but cannot get through.I do not know my mail server or set up names so cannot check them in the tools/accounts /mail/advanced tab . Can anyone help ? I have been trying to sort this ALL AFTERNOON and feel pretty fed up. "mrsboner" wrote: Outlook Express has been fine up until yesterday. Now I can`t send or receive any emails. This error message comes up A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Server: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19 I can go to the website and get my emails. I have been in contact with aapt and there is no problems on that front. It must be something with Outlook Express. Can anyone please help me. It is rather annoying! Thank you. |

Error 0x800ccc0d or 0x800ccc0f or 0x800ccc19 when Receiving or Sending
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514 Turn off the e-mail scanning in your anti-virus. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...921552806?Open You are still protected: http://snipurl.com/bmf6 If you have an Anti-Spam program, that can also be the cause of the error. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "glo" wrote in message ... Responding to an ancient (by Internet standards) post, with a problem only marginally related (the difference in the error numbers suggests a different cause to the problem)? It is good Internet manners to start a new post when you have a new problem; especially for a post which is five months old. Furthermore, you omitted the most important part of the error, the verbose message. However, I was able to recreate the message; maybe not identical to what you are seeing, but I get the same error number. This is the error I was able to get: |The host 'post.pacbell.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have |entered the server name correctly. Account: 'None', Server: |'post.pacbell.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket |Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D In this case, the problem is with the server name; it is incorrect. It should be 'postoffice.pacbell.net'. So, my first suggestion would be to verify the names of the servers in question. If that is not it, well; you left us guessing by not including the verbose message. OTOH, Google is your friend: http://www.google.com/search?q=error+Ox800CCCOD From which I deduced that your problem might be a typo; and I introduced a typographical error in my own server configuration to prove that point. If this is not the problem, post back with the _complete_ error message; preferably to this thread. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
