Default messages not showing sent

My emails are sending but I still get the error message
"Some errors occurred whilst processing he requesting tasks. Please review
the list of errors below for more details" yet there is no error message and
the message has gone but has not transferred to "sent box and is still
showing in outbox as due to send

I'm Using OE 6 SP2 and Win XP Pro with SP2 and broadband is with plusnet.
Makes no difference which email account I use (I have some with freeola, one
with plusnet and one with tiscali - same thing happens.

Tried reinstalling XP - made no difference. Set up a new identity - same
thing happens

Can anyone help?

Reinstalling an operating system is a drastic step. This time, before you
start MS Outlook Epress, rename your "Sent Items.dbx" folder to "Sent
Items.old". Now, when you next start MS Outlook Exress, it will create a
new "Sent Items.dbx" file.

You may have to uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" box
in the Folder View options; you should do that anyway, to avoid being
suckered by the double extension trick[1]. Then you can either use the
Maintenance option to move the message store (you don't have to actually
move it) to find the location, or just use Search, for "Sent Items.dbx",
and go to that folder to work on it.

Note[1]: Malicious actors will name a malicious file something like,
"virus.txt.exe". With "Hide file extensions for known file types" checked,
that file would look harmless, like, "virus.txt".
