If you forward such a message to yourself, are the attachments present in
the received message? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Gurny wrote: When I forward messages with attachments, the attachments are not included when sent. |

I have done that and it worked, but just wanted to know why I can't simply
forward original E-mail and retain attachments? Windows version?
Is your anti-virus application configured to scan outgoing and incoming mail? If so, try disabling the email scanning (not the AV app itself) to see if doing so fixes the problem. General OE Caveats: - Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local folders created for this purpose. - Empty Deleted Items folder daily. - Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm. - Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if Automatic Compacting is taking place (WinXP SP2 only). - Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Gurny wrote: No itis the same no attachments included "PA Bear" wrote: If you forward such a message to yourself, are the attachments present in the received message? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Gurny wrote: When I forward messages with attachments, the attachments are not included when sent. |

Are these picture "attachments" embedded in the message? If so, you
need to select Tools, Options, Send, Mail Format, HTML Settings, Send Pictures. Normal attachments are always included in a Forward (but never a reply). But pictures embedded in an HTML format message are not considered attachments but part of the message and the above setting controls whether or not they are included with the message. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Gurny" wrote in message ... Thanks for that but it is not when sending messages with embedded pictures,
it is when forwarding message with file attachments. In my Outlook at work I have no problem forwarding messages with attachments, but at home in Outlook Express the files are not included when forwarded. What types of files are these that are getting lost?
Are you do are you using Message, Forward, or Message Forward As Attachment, or a Forward button on the tool bar? In the Message Composition window once you start the Forward do you see the Attachments line in the message header listing the files? Is this a POP3, IMAP or HTTP mail account? -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Gurny" wrote in message ... I am pressing forward button on toolbar and any files are shown as being
attached, but when I look at the sent items, no attachments are present. I am using a pop3 server. "Michael Santovec" wrote: What types of files are these that are getting lost?
