I've been using OE6 to check AOL email for the past couple of years.
It's nice to be able to manage my AOL & pop3 email in one place. Although connecting can be bumpy at times, I figure it's the price I have to pay to keep my (very old) AOL email accounts. However, during the past 24 hours or so, it's gotten rather ridiculous. Sometimes the send/receive happens almost instantaneously, but more often than not, the connection times out on at least one of my two aol email addresses. In the past, I've always been able to resolve this by clicking on "Stop" and then clicking "send/receive" again. Today it's taking several attemps. Sometimes I just give up and try again later. Is anyone else having this problem? Or perhaps it's an issue with my ISP (RoadRunner)...? I don't think it's anything related to my PC because my wife's computer is experiencing the same behavior. If anyone else uses OE6 with AOL and is NOT having this problem today, I'd love to hear from you too... David |

That can interfere with either sending email, receiving email, or both. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

I'm not running any real-time virus checking pgm. I turned off my firewall to see if that makes a difference... if it were going to affect it, I'd thik it would be all or nuthin' we'll see... |
