Default Email notifications not working

Recently my new email notifications have stopped working, both the 'play a
sound' and 'message flag' on the toolbar no longer function. I have checked
that both are enabled which they are but still they dont work. Could it be a
corrupt registery entry or something similar? My notifications for Windows
Messenger are still working normally.

Your identity may have become corrupt?
Create a new identity OEFileidentitiesnew, set up one of your accounts in
that and test it? If it works ok import all your messages etc, and delete
the old one OEFileidentitiesmanage.
