Duplicate messages.
For Hotmail, or IMAP accounts: ToolsOptionsGeneral tab. Uncheck either: When starting, go directly to my Inbox folder or, Send and receive messages at startup. It is a POP3 account and the link says to "delete the "Pop3uidl.dbx" file."
How do I delete it? Thank you Bruce for replying earlier. "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Duplicate messages. For Hotmail, or IMAP accounts: ToolsOptionsGeneral tab. Then you're not posting from the problem account? I see Hotmail in your
address. Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then StartRunCtrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In Windows XP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View. With OE closed, delete the Pop3uidl.dbx file and then close Windows Explorer and open OE. A new file will have been created. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "laura" wrote in message . .. It is a POP3 account and the link says to "delete the "Pop3uidl.dbx" file." I'm sorry. It's my son who is having this problem and he is using the pop3
account. He went to search and entered pop3uidl and when it came up, he hit delete. Then he went back to Outlook Express and he's still receiving double emails. Thank you for helping. Was OE closed when he deleted the file? It won't work if OE is open.

You need to check your sons mail account configuration:
Tools-Accounts... He might have added the same account twice so when he hits Send-Receive he gets the messages twice. Milan Kosanovic |
