I use adware anti spyware, and have zone alarm firewall. And what anti-virus application is installed now? What bothers me is that I also use xnews, and it doesn't work there either That definitely suggests a connection/network issue, Bill. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ bill wrote: Bear I have avg 7.5 I had 8.0 but removed it to many problems. I have no other conection problems and it dosn't matter what time I try, I get the same error. The only thing I didn't try is a new identity i'll try that now. as far as changing anything it's only me and the wife, and she is limited as far as computer savy.no filtering. What bothers me is that I also use xnews, and it doesn't work there either but all other news groups do work, ie microsoft, grc etc. I'm going to try a new id i'll get back with the results.
