I'm using OE6 and Windows XP SP2. Accounts is not shown in the tools drop
menu. I've read the previous posts and carried out the check on the registry, also tried a new account, all to no avail. This seems to have occurred recently, and the only change I have made is to allow updates. I'm reluctant to go to SP3 until this is sorted as I want to get all backups done first. Any suggestions? |

Did you do everything here, especially the last paragraph?
No Accounts in Tools drop-down box: Go to StartRunType: regedit. Locate this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express On the right-hand side of the page, double click: *No modify accts* value. {If this value does not exist, on the Edit menu, click DWORD Value. Type: No modify accts, and press Enter to save the name}. Change the setting of this value from 1 to 0, click OK. That should put it back in the drop-down box. If you have any problems with those instructions, this is a direct registry modification download that will also put it back: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...modifyundo.reg If neither fix works, /and/ you already have the *No Modify Accts* value in the registry, delete it and reboot. If Accounts is not back now, recreate the *No Modify Accts* value as per above. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "John Melodeon" John wrote in message news ![]() I'm using OE6 and Windows XP SP2. ![]() Thanks Bruce, I deleted the key and accounts is now there. Strangely *No modify accts* has not been replaced, but its working fine without it and now I can do my backups. Thanks again, John. You're welcome & thanks for the feedback. *No modify accts* is not in the
registry by default. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "John Melodeon" wrote in message ... Thanks Bruce, I deleted the key and accounts is now there.
