I have Windows XP SP2 with Outlook Express. Recently, when sending my
e-mails I get a window that comes up saying "! MSI must be launched thru Setup" and then immediately another window that says "CIB Please wait while Windows configures CIB." I have no idea what either of these is. After a little experimenting I found that just closing the windows with those messages about 5 or 6 times (because they pop right back up again that many times) finally eliminates them and it seems my e-mails gets sent normally after that. Does anyone know what these windows mean, and what can I do to get rid of the problem? Other than that, my Outlook Express seems to work fine, as it always did before this started. Could be that you have a virus. See:
What we know about CIB.MSI: http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X1674...0/CIB.MSI.html Make sure that your anti-virus is up-to-date and run a scan. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "LFrasier" wrote in message ... Thanks for answering. I have Norton 360 and it is up to date. I ran a
comprehensive virus scan and my machine came up totally clean. I then ran the free scan on the prevx page, and same results. I'm still at a loss... Linda "Michael Santovec" wrote in message ... Thanks for replying. I tried what you suggested, and the behavior persists.
I do not have Zune. I'm not sure what you mean by my machine is not fully patched.....I have it enabled to install all updates every day....What am I missing here? Thanks for your help. I'm not sure what you mean by my machine is not fully patched...
Sorry, might be a false alarm. Go to Windows Update website | open Update History (left-hand menu) | Tell me if "Security Update for Outlook Express and Windows Mail (941202)" was ever installed successfully. ...I tried what you suggested, and the behavior persists. I checked and I do have the update that you mentioned (941202)---says it was
installed successfully, so I will follow up on some of those links you sent and see what I can find. Thanks again. Linda "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ...
