Yes, when I imported the messages, there was a choice of importing from MS
Outlook - that's what I did. But when I tried to import an address book it went to the empty .wab file on found on my computer when I did the search. There were actually 4 files that contained .wab - 3 of them were last modified in 2005 and one of them was modified today at the same time as when I received my email "Welcome to Outlook Express 6" at 1:06 PM?? "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... If you imported messages, you imported them from another identity or directory. A new identity was created somehow. I have a feeling you didn't do the search for the Address Book correctly. Try this: In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. ...When I had shut down my computer this morning because
they were putting a new electric box on our house... Did you *unplug* your computer from the electrical outlet? Judging from your other replies to this thread, it sounds like you didn't and that perhaps a power surge damaged your computer. If so, TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER NOW! and don't turn it on again. Take it to a local, reputable, and independent shop (i.e., not BigBoxStore USA; not Geek Squad) and see if a skilled technician can recover your data. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Kristie Gustafson wrote: I don't understand either!
