Default File attachment

Are you going through the Insert, File Attachment and when you see the
folder in the that you want and you click on it instead of opening the
folder, the folder name gets attached with a LNK file extension?

That happens when folder you click on is actually a link (shortcut) to
the folder and not the folder itself. OE attaches the shortcut which is
worthless.

You need to determine the physical location of the folder and navigate
to the folder that via the Insert, File Attachment. Or else open the
folder via Windows File Explorer and drag-and-drop the desired files to
the OE message.

Thanks thats correct the desktop has shortcut to the folder.
