Default uninstall and reinstall OE

Yesterday I wrote to say my son's computer was showing double emails from
OE. He didn't take my advice and now his computer times out when he tries
to send out emails from OE.
What he would like to do now is unistall and re-install OE. What would
happen if he did that? Could you tell me how he would do that.
He's using OE 6, XP Home Edition, SP1

Default uninstall and reinstall OE

Reinstalling OE would probably not fix anything.

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as
time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will
continue to protect you sufficiently.

If that does not fix it, he must send you the error message he gets and have
you post it.

receive e-mail in Outlook and in Outlook Express:
