Default outlook express and explorer go off line useing DSL

Hello everyone,
I need some help, I've come to a dead end. I have DSL and I am always on
line, always ready to go. Lately, if I don't use outlook or the explorer for
awhile they seem to go off line. When I push send/rec I get a message that I
am off line and would I like to go on line. The same for explorer. When I
start explorer after not using it for awile, it says I'm working off line
and would I like to go online (something to that effect) Useing windows XP
with sp2.
Thanks in advance

Check your options under Tools/Options/Connections. It sounds like you have
checked the "hang up after Send/Receive."

Hi Jim,
I wish it was that simple. I've checked all possible adjustments, but to no
avail
