I have a couple of computers that have windows xp as the os. Everything was
working fine, then all of a sudden (Somewhat recently) I have not been able to send messages on outlook express from either computer. I seem to receive ok, but cannot respond nor create new messages on either computer using outlook express. Any ideas of what may cause this out of the blue? |

What happens when you try to send?
Any error message? Are both computers using the same modem with a router? -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Niles Meltesen" wrote in message ... Your NNTP-Posting-IP_Address tells me that you are a Comcast user. Comcast has become very aggressive about controlling outbound SMTP traffic on port 25. You may need to configure Outlook Express to use port 587, and you should check "My server requires authentication" when you make that change. Also, when requesting assistance, it is customary to include the entire error message of the failure; not just some code number but the verbose component, as well. And, for email issues, your ISP should be included in the information that you provide. More is better than less, when trying to get help. -- Norman ~Shine, bright morning light, ~now in the air the spring is coming. ~Sweet, blowing wind, ~singing down the hills and valleys. |
