Hello, this is Hiro again. This post is a bit old, but I am still struggling.
I am using Windows XP SP2 and Outlook Express 6. My incoming e-mail has both text and picture file. And I think the text file and picture file are using different fonts. Because: 1) When I view the e-mail with the Cyrillic (KOI8-R): * text is displayed correctly. * picture file is NOT displayed (it is a red x mark.) 2) When I view the e-mail with the Unicode (UTF-7): * text becomes funny characters. * picture file is displayed correctly. However, in Windows 2000 SP4, I don't have to change the font setting in Outlook Express 6 at all. Both the text and picture file are correctly displayed. So, I suspect some adjustment in Windows XP SP2 may be necessary. Do you have any idea? With best regards, Hiro "Steve Cochran" wrote: If you want, take such a message and go to Message | Forward as attachment and send it to me and I'll take a look at the formatting. It sounds like a strange character in the image filename. steve "Hiro" wrote in message ... Dear forum members: I am using Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP SP2. I recently received an e-mail with photos. Photos are in JPEG format. However, one photo is using an English font and the other photo is using a Cyrillic font. When I look at this e-mail, I can see the photo with an English font, but the photo with a Cyrillic font shows as red "X" mark. This does NOT happen on Windows 2000 SP4. So, it seems that Windows XP SP2 needs some adjustment. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you and Happy Holidays!! |
