Default Make A Wish????

Are there still any wishes being considered for the next version of OE?
Where do we do that nowadays?

I would like to see a little icon down near the Online/Offline icon that
would appear ***regardless of what view I'm currently working in*** that
would appear or light up or something when there is a 'reply to my post' in
the group I'm currently in. I understand about watching threads and having
them change color and boldness and such, but, for busy newsgroups where
there are tons of posts it really would be nice to have a little something
just light up without having to change views or sorting or anything...
something that would just appear no matter what else I'm doing in that
newsgroup at the moment.

Heck... that might even be a neat little diddy for OE tool??????

You're out of luck. OE will be discontinued when Vista comes out.

There is still a possibility for a service pack for OE on WinXP SP2.

Will they take up another generation of mail/newsreader after OE? Outlook is
just too clunky for the average home user and it doesn't do news. It would
seem that, with so many using OE, they'd never just let it die. As something
to sell standalone it would likely be another good profit source.

Vista comes with Wiindows Mail (WinMail) instead of OE. In many ways it is
an improvement. Still doesn't work right, though.

Is it still a news reader, too?
