I have had to replace my keyboard on my dell laptop and find that when I go
to type a new message that after I type in the subject and hit my tab key that it does not bring me down into the message body. Is there a function that I can set to fix this or is this with the keyboard? Thanks, lbug |

Sounds like a bad keyboard to me unless it is an exotic keyboard with multi
function settings. Either way, there isn't any setting in OE that will change it. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "richard p litter" wrote in message hlink.net... hlink.net... I have had to replace my keyboard on my dell laptop and find that when I go to type a new message that after I type in the subject and hit my tab key that it does not bring me down into the message body. Is there a function that I can set to fix this or is this with the keyboard? What happens when you Tab? What happens when you Backtab (Shift-Tab)? One possibility you should be aware of is that sometimes the modifier keys "stick" E.g. if one of the Shift- keys was sticking and you pressed Tab you would actually see a Backtab carried out. Do enough of those and you could end up where you expected to go by doing a Forward Tab. Similarly, other modifier keys e.g. Alt- or Ctrl- could be "sticking" either separately or in combination making your keyboard entry unsuccessful. Unsticking stuck modifier keys usually involves using the same type of modifier from the opposite side of the keyboard. E.g. if RightShift- seemed to be stuck you could try "unsticking" it by pressing and releasing LeftShift-. Etc. Thanks, lbug HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- |
