When trying to restore my Outlook Express (v.6) address book from a backup
disk, I suffered a double whammy: the address book failed to restore and my mail folders were overwritten. As I backed up two months ago , I have lost my most recent two months' of stored e-mails. Luckily I have just started backing daily up to an external hard disk so all the folders are on there - my question is, how do I locate and copy them from the external hard disk to the internal one? TIA Andrew Stucken |

Patience is a virtue, Andrew. See replies to your first thread.

I should have given a better origonal description of the issue. My apologies.
I actually created the problem of missing e-mails by overwriting the existing folders from an out of-date backup created using the OE Quick Backup programme. However, as stated, I do luckily have a separate whole disk back-up (a straightforward replication to an external hard drive which is much more recent, not an OEQB one). I was therefore wondering whether I could now copy and paste the *.dbx folders to my C: drive from the external hard drive to resolve this issue. Simple solution: I imported the files from Outlook. I had earlier imoported
them to Outlook from OE. "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: Patience is a virtue, Andrew. See replies to your first thread. Importing an Address Book has no affect whatsoever on your OE folders.
